Hello, my name is Tyler Rhodes, and as you may have guessed, I’m an artist!
I mainly do animations, but most any art interests me, especially if it has some connection to science or natural forms. I also like the idea of using animation as a tool, and not merely as a form of entertainment, and to perhaps, in some small way, impart knowledge to the viewer. This was my reasoning behind the evolution animation and the blog, where I wanted to go over my process of creating the work in more detail.
Also a special thanks to all the people over the years who made drawings for the project! including…
Patrick Henry School of Science & Art
William Fox Elementary
VCU Kinetic Imaging
VCU Lobs and Lessons Program
VCU Discovery Program
the Science Museum of Virginia
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Lighthouse Studios
Mid-Atlantic Bioanthropology Interest Group
SouthEastern Evolutionary Perspectives Society
NorthEastern Evolutionary Psychology Society
and MAGFest!
